Foggy Window Repair & Insulated Glass Replacement in Vancouver, WA

Moisture between the panes of your windows usually means the insulated glass unit has failed. In many homes, we can replace just the glass and keep the window you already have.

Sunlit multi-pane residential window

What is an insulated glass unit (IGU)?

Most modern windows use two panes of glass sealed together around an insulating gap. That sealed pair is the insulated glass unit, or IGU. When the seal fails, moisture gets between the panes and the glass looks foggy, cloudy or streaky. Cleaning does not help, because the moisture is trapped inside.

Replace the glass, keep the window

If the frame and sash are in good condition, a failed IGU can often be replaced without replacing the entire window. We measure your existing unit, order a new custom insulated glass unit and install it in your current frame. For many homeowners this costs less than a full window replacement, and it keeps the windows, trim and interior finishes they already have.

When glass-only repair is not the right fix

If the frame is rotted, warped or damaged, or the window no longer opens, locks or seals properly, new glass alone will not solve the problem. We will tell you honestly when replacing the whole window makes more sense.

What affects the price

  • Size and shape of the glass
